2 Colorado Marquees Make Most-Charming in America List
Atlas Obscura just named 'America's Most Charming Historic Theater Marquees,' including two Colorado venues (but we'd argue more could make the cut).
Colorado has a handful of historic theaters, mostly used for live music these days. We've been to most of them, and you probably have, too. The Thompson Theater on Colfax was built in 1914, but you probably know it as the Bluebird, with one of the most-charming marquees in America.
The Art Deco Mayan Theater (1930) on Broadway was also recognized.
Some others that didn't make the list (but we feel deserve to be mentioned) are...
Boulder Theater (1906)
Oriental Theater (1927)
Gothic Theatre (1925)
Paramount Theatre (1930)
