25 Beers of Christmas: Odell Brewing’s DDH Imperial IPA
It's the most wonderful time of the year...the time where we're celebrating one Fort Collins brewery every day in December! Welcome to the 25 Beers of Christmas.
On the 12 day of Christmas, my true love gave to me...something truly special. It's an all-new brew from Odell Brewing (DON'T say Odell's) and I got to try a little taste of it myself.
There's something about Odell Brewing Company. As soon as I walked through the doors I was treated like family by their bartenders, who handed off a six-pack of the new Double Dry Hopped Imperial Ale to me with pride. Everyone at Odell Brewing Company is proud of the work that the brewery does there, and it shows.
If you're an IPA person (*cough* every dude in Fort Collins *cough*) this will probably be your new favorite beer (and even if you're not a dude in Fort Collins, you'll probably love it). The taste is beautifully hoppy, featuring both Chinook and Galaxy hops and coming to an impressive 8.2% ABV.
The beer features strong aromas of Mandarin orange, apricot, pineapple and papaya, and even the person I was drinking with said from across the couch: "Woah. Smell those hops."
Try the limited release for yourself at the taproom today, or grab a pack at your local liquor store. Cheers!
