Martha Hummel, a 70-year-old, disabled Loveland woman has lived in the same home for 20 years.

Denver7 reports that an investment company paid just $19,000 for her house, and she was evicted shortly after.

However, she got the notice of eviction this summer because the Homeowners Association foreclosed her home after not paying her HOA fees once her automatic dues payment stopped working, Denver7 reports.

When the HOA management company changed, her automatic payments stopped for approximately two years.

"When you buy into an HOA, you sign a contract to pay those dues," explained the president of the Colorado HOA Forum, Stan Hrincevich.

A judge allowed Martha to keep possession of her house until she can tell her side of the story next month, Denver7 reports.
