Why did the cow cross the road?

To get to the udder side.

Sort of — except  for this poor cow in Greeley who didn't quite make it to its destination. Instead, it wound up getting stuck while trying to cross over a cattle guard, requiring the help of others to safely steer it back on course. In a joint effort between Animal Control Officers from the Weld County Sheriff's Office, members of the Greeley Fire Department, and helpful oil field workers who assisted in operating the front loader to do the heavy lifting, the cow was rescued and did not have any broken legs. It's expected to make a full recovery thanks to the assistance of everyone involved. Ironically, the concept of cattle guards is to act as a deterrent, and since cows know this, they usually stay away. Check out more pictures from the incident below courtesy of the Weld County Sheriff's Office.
