A piece of Fort Collins history is just about ready to roll again. Last seen on the tracks in 1951,  Briney Streetcar 25 is ready for a second act.

Fort Collins Birney car 21 is currently celebrating its 100th year of service. I still need to get a ride, I don't know why I haven't. Next year, however, we should be seeing the option of riding in TWO cars.

The Coloradoan has the story on how, after 68 years of not being a part of the team, and after a ten-year restoration, Car 25 is back running under 'her' own power and could be handling passenger next summer.

The Fort Collins Municipal Railway System who operates the trolley system is made up of volunteers donating their time and monies to keep this piece of Fort Collins history alive.

According to The Coloradoan, ol' 25 has some stories to tell. After motor vehicles started to become more prevalent in the Choice City most of the fleet was sold off. Car 25 was initially purchased from the city for $250.

After being moved around Colorado for many years, the Fort Collins Municipal Railway System bought the trolley in 2007 and brought 'her' back to Fort Collins for a whopping $196,000.  That is a LOT of $2 rides. It kinda sounds like an episode of American Pickers, right?
