I feel bad as a proud Colorado native, but I must honestly say that I had no idea that Chipotle was founded in Colorado. They say you learn something new everyday, and along with learning the burrito place is from Colorado, I also learned the fast food joint every state's most known for.

It's not that I disagree with the map, it's just that I have no idea what they used as the actual definition for "fast food." To me, fast food is Wendy's (from Ohio), McDonald's (from Illinois), or Burger King (from Florida). Although, the more I think about it, Chipotle is kind of fast...

The map from Thrillist said about Colorado:

Apologies to Quiznos, but Denver-founded Chipotle has you beat.

Thrillist didn't really explain how they picked each place, other than saying the business had to be either founded or headquartered in the state to have a chance. That means that these other Colorado-founded restaurants came in behind Chipotle (in no particular order)... Smashburger, Qdoba, Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill, Noodles & Co., Boston Market, and Quiznos. Still no real prototypical "fast food" restaurant from Colorado... Maybe we should work on that!
