Let it snow... Let it snow... Let it snow! A winter storm warning has been issued for nearly all of the high country in Colorado. The winter storm warning is in effect from 11 a.m. Thursday through Saturday at 11 a.m. according to KDVR.

Areas of Colorado such as Durango, Aspen, Telluride, Vail, and Meeker could see snowfall totals up to 20 inches with the incoming winter storm. Some portions of Colorado west of Denver and on the western slopes could see six to sixteen inches of snow during this storm.

Travel in these areas is expected to be impacted by the falling snow accompanied by possible wind gusts of up to 50 miles per hour in some of the affected areas.

This is a welcome sight for all of us in Colorado as the snow has been pretty much nonexistent so far this season. As for snow on the Front Range, parts of the Denver Metro Area could see a sprinkling for a short amount of time on Friday evening.

The forecasted high for Christmas day in Northern Colorado is expected to be in the mid-50s and sunny. No white Christmas for those of us that are spending the holiday in Northern Colorado this year.
