CO Gas Prices Rise Ten Cents Overnight: Where To Find Cheap(er) Gas In The State

Just when you thought gas prices might be taking a turn for the better... they're not - not on a state level, not on a national level, nowhere. 

Over the last 24 hours alone, gas prices in Colorado have risen ten cents (yeah, you read that correctly); according to AAA, the average price for gas in the state stood at about $4.27 (for regular grade gas) as of Tuesday, May 31.

On Wednesday, June 1, the average price for gas in Colorado rose to $4.37 - the highest recorded unleaded gas price in state history.

Nationally, gas prices are currently sitting at an average of $4.67 for a gallon of regular fuel.

Despite Rising Gas Prices, People Are Still Hitting The Road

You'd think that the insane rise in gas prices would keep people off the roads (or, at least, you might hope), however, that's not the case... so far.

“So far, the pent-up urge to travel caused by the pandemic outweighs high pump prices for many consumers,” said Andrew Gross, a AAA spokesperson.

“But 67% of drivers recently surveyed told us they would change their driving habits if gas hit $4.50 a gallon. That number rises to 75% at $5 a gallon. If pump prices keep rising, will people alter their summer travel plans? That remains to be seen.”
