A salmonella outbreak across the country has put over 100 people in the hospital and sickened over 600, including people in Colorado.

It's absolutely better to be safe than sorry on this one, even if there have only been a handful (less than 10) of cases in Colorado. I used to date a woman who did not like onions; this would give her a grin.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced on October 21, 2021, that 37 states across the country have been affected by the outbreak from onions imported from Chihuahua, Mexico, distributed by ProSource Inc.

This alert goes for all white, red, and yellow onions, If you aren't positive of where they came from, show them the door. or the trash in this case. These onions were sold to grocery stores and restaurants across the country.

Imagine all the recipes across Colorado that include onions. I love chopping up some onions for 'Mom's Old World Goulash' every couple of weeks. They add a great taste and they smell fantastic cooking in the pan before hitting the sauce.
