Excuse Us?! Colorado Isn’t Good Enough to Make the ‘Best Food’ List
I wish I could tell you that this is a joke. A cruel trick. A fake news foray. But alas, I cannot — Colorado has been rudely, inappropriately snubbed.
By who, you ask? The so-called "foodies" at Food & Wine, who decided to leave Colorado out of their "America's Next Great Food Cities" list.

Perhaps I'm being too harsh. These people probably do know their food, but they did rank cities like Cincinnati, Boise, Indianapolis, and Omaha as some of the greatest for grub. Fine cities with fine food, sure — but have they tried Colorado cuisine?!
I don't think so. Here are four Centennial State cities that should have made the list:
Fort Collins
Fort Collins may be known as the mecca of breweries, but the Choice City has great food too — I mean, we literally have an event called Taste of Fort Collins.
One stroll through Old Town tells you everything you need to know. Want the world's best cinnamon roll? Go to Silver Grill. Craving a giant steak? Hit up RARE Italian. Even the gyro stand for bar-hopping college kids is top-notch.
Boulder
As a Colorado State University alum, I hate to give Boulder any love. But I'll admit it — their food is damn good.
Pearl Street is full of delicious restaurants, but the city's true pride and joy is The Buff. You can't try the Saddlebags and a giant chai tea latte and tell me Boulder doesn't belong on a "best food" list.
Denver
Eater.com dedicates an entire section of its website to Denver, so you know there's good food in the Mile High City.
Whether you want to get fancy in Cherry Creek, be social at Happy Camper, or cure your hangover at Denver Biscuit Co., you'll never go hungry when hanging out in the 303.
Morrison
Morrison may be a tiny town, but that doesn't stop it from having a big food scene.
Hit up Market Street to try tapas at Beso De Arte, stroll down Bear Creek Avenue to get an authentic Czech experience at Cafe Prague, or try out unique game meat at The Fort.
Colorado could be on a "best drinks" list too. Check out 24 cocktails to try in Fort Collins in the gallery below.
