Colorado Tops List of States Where People Treat Themselves Most
Fort Mason Games - a female run mobile gaming company has commissioned a survey to find out how Americans choose to treat themselves, and who treats themselves the most. Colorado lands at the top of the list, neck in neck with Washington and Maryland.
The study found that giving yourself some "me time" can greatly benefit your health and wellness.
The treat yourself movement was created by the show Parks and Recreation and is mostly seen as a millennial fad. However, giving yourself a treat for hard work is as old as time. The study found that (more than ever) Americans are proactively looking for moments of happiness to boost their moods.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU TREAT YOURSELF?
99% of Americans surveyed say you should treat yourself regularly and 91% believe it positively affects mental health and well-being.
MOST POPULAR WAYS TO TREAT YOURSELF:
69% of Americans say they treat themselves with some alone time and 31% saying they see it as time to spend with others.
39% of Americans say they treat themselves by buying a non-essential item like a television, new phone, or fancy dinner.
Speaking of fancy dinner, that lands at 17% on the survey. Followed by 14% of respondents binge watching television shows or reading books. Spa treatments are right behind with a 13%. Stay-cations and mobile video games round out the bottom of the list.
