From Gym to Beer: Colorado to Welcome a Mysterious New Craft Brewery
In a location that used to be home to a fitness gym, a new craft brewery has appeared on the scene. At a time when it seems the Colorado craft beer industry may be waning, this brewer looks to defy that.
On one hand, it's always great to see a new craft brewery come to town: to try their beers, to see their taproom. On the other hand, you worry that the market may be saturated, and they may not make it off the ground, before they have to let the project go.
It was announced recently, that one of Loveland, Colorado's, oldest craft brewers would be closing down its taproom. The pandemic took its toll on many business operations, including the Colorado's craft beer industry.
For many years, in north Loveland, there was a Fitness 19 gym; I was a member of that gym for five years, until I moved across town. Now, in this area, many people have joined the new fitness club, Chuze. Chuze is a bit north of where this new Colorado brewery will be opening.
WHO IS THIS NEW BREWERY COMING TO LOVELAND, COLORADO?
Their name is Crooked Beech Brewing.
WHY 'CROOKED BEECH?'
I did a little investigating, and found that there is a Crooked Beech Brewing LLC based out of Huntington, Maryland. Beech trees are native to the eastern United States, such as Maryland. It may also (not likely) have been as a nod to the business next door to the brewery: It was At The Beach Tanning, which recently became Palm Beach Tan.
Crooked Beech does not yet have a website or a Facebook page, but they are on Instagram, where they have only shared a couple of photos.
In the end, this is a good spot for a new craft brewer in Loveland, as there aren't any in that area. Here's to hoping they have a "straight" path to success.
