Current: A Runway For Our River Combines Fashion and Fundraising to Benefit Fort Collins
It's awesome when local businesses can come together and team up to do good things for the community that they are a part of. This sort of thing is happening on Saturday, November 19, when many of Fort Collins' favorite boutiques, salons, artists and restaurants unite for an elegant, evening runway show, with all proceeds going towards Save the Poudre. Current: A Runway For Our River will be kicking off around 8:30 p.m. at The Articulate, which is located at 324 Jefferson Street. Doors for the fundraising fashion show open at 7 p.m. Some of the local businesses being featured in the upcoming show are Cira Ltd., Blue Harvest, Magnolia Moon, Storm Men's Shop, Akinz, Topo Designs, Tula, and Apricot Lane. Local salons and stylists will be helping with hair and make-up. There will also be an open bar stocked with New Belgium beer, food and vendors, as well as an exciting silent auction with products from local restaurants, boutiques, artists, autographed Broncos memorabilia, and tickets to Disney Theme Parks. All ages are welcome to attend.
Save the Poudre works hard to protect and restore the Cache la Poudre River because of its importance, beauty, and strong impact on our town. Funds raised will help to keep the Poudre River vibrant and thriving, which greatly helps our community!
*A casting call for models who are interested in walking the runway for Current will be held from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. on September 30, in the downstairs yoga studio at Cafe Vino in Fort Collins. The committee is seeking both male and female models, ages 16 and up. For more information, contact the creative director and producer of the show, William Maestas at williammaestas@ymail.com.
