On Monday, March 23, Mayor Michael Hancock issued a stay-at-home order for Denver, saying that "every effort should be made, by all persons, to conduct only those essential activities necessary to promote health and well-being, such as getting groceries, obtaining medical supplies or medication, and/or engaging in outdoor activities like walking, hiking or running, continuing the strict observance of physical distancing practices," according to the DenverGov.org.

However, after Denver residents swarmed dispensaries and liquor stores before 5:00 p.m., the mayor made an amendment to the order.

Liquor stores and dispensaries are allowed to be open as long as the patrons practice "extreme social distancing", according to Denver7.

The stay-at-home order runs through April 10 and can be extended if Mayor Hancock decides it is necessary.
