Downtown Fort Collins Great Plates, Great Food for a Good Cause
The 2016 Downtown Fort Collins Great Plates, kicks off March 1, and is a great local event where you can enjoy amazing food, at an affordable price, for a great cause. Running from March 1 to the 14, thirty-seven downtown restaurants will offer dinner and breakfast specials. Prices are fixed, with dinner set at $25, while breakfast and dessert is set at $2.50. These prices do not include tax, tip or donation. Donations are being collected to benefit the Food Bank of Larimer County. According to the food bank, a $1 donation, is equivalent to $5 worth of food in their hands. Dinner and dessert hours are from 5:00 p.m. to close, while breakfast hours are from open to 10:00 a.m., at participating restaurants.
In 2015, the Great Plates event raised $82,700 for the Food Bank of Larimer County, well above their goal of $60,000. Every year, the Food Bank of Larimer County helps provide food for over 36,000 people. Those are families, children, seniors, your neighbors, coworkers, maybe even relatives.
There are thirty-seven amazing restaurants participating this year. It's not easy to pick my personal favorites, however here are my Top 5 restaurants that are participating this year:
- Jax Fish House
- Austin's American Grill
- The Yeti
- Social
- Rodizio Grill
