Over the weekend Bruce Springsteen among others played at a Charity Concert in Asbury Park called Light of Day. The Light of Day shows were launched in 2000 by music industry vet Bob Benjamin to raise money to help battle Parkinson's Disease. Around 1:30 AM, after seven hours of music and a ninety-minute set by Springteen things seemed to be wrapping up. People began putting on their coats to leave and Bruce came back out and played an impromptu super slowed-down "Thunder Road". According to Rolling Stone's Andy Greene it was the most beautiful rendition of the 1975 classic that he has ever heard. I am a huge fan of Bruce Springsteen and I can only imagine what it must have been like. I posted this slower version that he did on VH1 Storytellers a few years ago because it is amazing as well.
