Fort Collins' annual music festival FoCoMX has been rescheduled to take place later in the year, and in the meantime, a free virtual event will hold its place, FoCoMA announced in a press release.

While no specific date was given, FoCoMA said that the 2021 FoCoMX, which was originally rescheduled for Friday, April 23 and Saturday, April 24, 'will be postponed to the fall out of an abundance of caution for musicians and the community.'

April 23 and 24 will instead be FoCoMX: Public Trust, a free virtual event featuring a handful of emerging Northern Colorado artists.

'2020 was an incredibly challenging year for musicians and the music industry as a whole,' FoCoMA said in the press release. 'Our entire livelihoods were turned upside down and most of our plans completely changed, including our annual Fort Collins Music eXperiment, FoCoMX. Although we’re unable to produce the event in April as we are accustomed to, we still wanted to take that weekend to celebrate our local music scene in a reimagined way.'

FoCoMX: Public Trust will feature six bands that are a part of Fort Collins' DIY scene, with behind-the-scenes interviews included. FoCoMX: Public Trust artists will be BBMC, Copper Teeth, DEBR4H, Hanna Doreen Brown, The Sickly Hecks and Smelling Melons. You can watch the virtual festival here.
