For 16 years the southeast corner of of Main Street and 5th Street in Windsor was home to Okole Maluna. A new venture in the spot is trading 'Aloha' for 'Hola.'

Okole Maluna closed up in late 2020, after many years of serving and entertaining the Northern Colorado area since 2004. Not just a favorite of Windsorites, many folks drove from Loveland, Fort Collins, etc, to dine there. I have friends that are also from Hawaii and they used to love coming from northwest Fort Collins for some Okole. The owners will hopefully be opening another restaurant, soon; fingers crossed.

From January until August of 2021, Yuzu Asian Cafe had taken over the spot, but that didn't work out.  Now, we see signs of yet another new life for the space. It will be a second location for Cancún Mexican Grill & Cantina, which is located in Greeley.

Cancun gets favorable reviews for their Greeley location:

Love the atmosphere and the service. Added bonus, the Fundido is amazing! The only place in Colorado I’ve found comparable to the Fundido I’ve had in Phoenix several years ago!

Hopefully, Cancun can compete, as it will become Windsor's sixth Mexican eatery:

The Border

4th and Main Street.

Mi Tierra

In the King Soopers shopping area off of 15th and Main, next to Quizno's.

Pollos el Guero

South of Main Street and 11th Street.

Pueblo Viejo

Just east of the interstate in the Westgate Center.

Sol de Jalisco

In the Water Valley Parkway, off of Eastman Park Drive and Highway 257.

It's not clear on how soon they'll be open, but welcome to Windsor, Cancun!
