Former Yes Keyboardist Rick Wakeman Releases New Archival Live Collection
Having racked up over four decades in the music business, Rick Wakeman’s resume illustrates at loud volume an impressive list of accomplishments. The former Yes keyboard maestro will jump back to recall the early part of the aughts with the release of a new archival live album.
‘In The Nick Of Time’ dates from 2003 when Wakeman was touring to support ‘Out There,’ his current studio release at that point. Performing with a group of backing players dubbed ‘The New English Rock Ensemble,’ Wakeman touched upon quite a bit of material from the release and also threw in a choice nod to his Yes past with ‘Wurm’ wrapping up the set. Spanning seven tracks, this marks the first commercial release of the material, which has been greatly anticipated.
Wakeman remains actively involved in music and in recent years has collaborated with former Yes mate Jon Anderson for several tours and studio collaborations. Anderson says that the pair will continue to work and tour together in the future.
‘Roundabout,’ one of Wakeman’s most celebrated Yes moments recently received special recognition, charting at No. 88 on our list of the Top 100 Classic Rock Songs.
