Update: No officers were injured in the operation. The suspect is currently in the hospital due to an unrelated medical condition. He will be booked into the Larimer County Jail once he is medically cleared. 


A Fort Collins man is in custody after eliciting a SWAT team response outside of his residence on Sunday (January 5) night.

Fort Collins Police Services (FCPS) arrived at the 1000 Block of Glenmoor Drive that night after receiving a call about a burglary in progress, according to The Coloradoan

The suspect fled after seeing the officers, but they were able to identify him.

Police followed the suspect and saw him return to his home in the 1000 block of Cragmore Drive. After ignoring officer commands, the suspect barricaded himself inside of his home.

The Fort Collins Police SWAT team was called to the scene, and the suspect was safely arrested.

During the incident, police sent nearby residents a LETA 911 alert, warning them to stay inside and away from windows and doors. The alert was lifted at 2:32 a.m. Monday (January 6) morning.
