The weather outside is frightful and this is even more frightful. And incredibly sad.

A man was struck and killed by a train on Tuesday evening in Fort Collins.

According to a press release, the length of the train and the investigation procedure caused the intersection of Horsetooth and McClelland to be blocked for a few hours after the incident that happened in rush hour at round 5:40 p.m..

The report states that the victim was an adult male with no other descriptions or name released as of this morning (Feb. 2).


Fort Collins police are asking anyone with information regarding this collision who has not already spoken to authorities to call officer Ken Koski at 970-416-2229.

Roads are snow covered and slick this morning so please give yourself some extra time if you can't stay at home. Be safe out there.
