Fort Collins Police Arrest Child Porn Suspect

The details on this arrest are sickening. Larimer County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man on 60 felony charges of possession of child exploitative materials.  Thomas Christopher Mares was taken into custody on March 15th of 2018 after an investigation lasting months. In July of 2017 Fort Collins Police were contacts by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about numerous cyber tips from an ISP in regards to sexually explicit images of children detected online.

The investigation led to confiscation of many digital devices that were owned by Mares. Investigators found more than 670,000 images and 18,000 videos of showing sexual exploitation of children. According to detectives, they are estimating that Mares has been collecting the files for about 10 to 15 years.
