Last weekend was definitely a stay-inside weekend, with temps dropping well below zero, accompanied by snow showers, and this weekend may be, too. However, it won't be nearly as cold — we mean like, 40 to 50 degrees warmer.

According to the National Weather Service, the Fort Collins area can expect a chance of snow starting Saturday morning, continuing throughout the day, with a high of 40 degrees. Sunday will be mostly sunny with a high near 40 as well. You can see the extended forecast from the National Weather Service here.

Colorado had record-setting lows between Sunday, February 14 and Monday, February 15. While the Fort Collins and Greeley areas bottomed out around -11 degrees, some parts of Colorado reached the -30s, which was actually colder than the temperature at the North Pole on that date.

UCHealth reported a record number of patients being hospitalized for frostbite this year.

As of February 15, UCHealth officials have treated 26 individuals at the UCHealth Burn and Frostbite Center on the Anschutz Campus in Aurora. In addition, hospital staff has seen a higher rate of people coming into the emergency departments throughout northern Colorado for frostbite incidents over the past few days.
