Saturdays are hectic on the roads at any time of year, but especially during the month of December.

As it stands,  parking on Sundays is always free as well as your first hour at the Old Town Garage and the Civic Center Garage.

But fear not, holiday shoppers, the City of Fort Collins announced that the Old Town Parking Garage at 100 Remington St., the Firehouse Alley Garage at 160 Chestnut St. and the Civic Center Garage at the southeast corner of Mason Street and Laporte Avenue will all be free on Saturdays through New Year's Day.

Other changes to expect are green lights above each parking spot indicating its vacancy, making finding a spot much smoother. Say goodbye to awkwardly U-turning simultaneously with five other people in a dark, cramped parking garage.

The Coloradoan reported that Fort Collins parking garages are also going paper free. You can pay to park at a pay station or with the Fort Collins Parking mobile app.
