Greeley Man Sentenced to Prison For Involvement In Cocaine Ring

Alberto Loya, a Weld businessman, has officially been sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in a drug distribution ring, according to a press release from the Office of the District Attorney.

Loya, in February, pleaded guilty to one count of Conspiracy to Possess with the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance and Conspiracy to Money Launder. This all came after a lengthy investigation into a Northern Colorado cocaine distribution ring, which Loya was involved in.

Loya's involvement was discovered last year, when the Greeley man was reported for dealing substantial amounts of cocaine. According to the Greeley Tribune,

[The] Weld County Drug Task Force began to receive information Loya, also known as “Beto,” was involved in cocaine distribution in the Greeley area.

Information was then shared with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, who teamed up with the Weld County Drug Task Force to take Loya down.

Loya will spend the next decade of his life in prison at the Colorado Department of Corrections.
