The best tasting Water in the Rocky Mountain Region is… Greeley! I'm not kidding. It's Greeley.  Greeley water was selected as best tasting in a three State Region at the  2016 Rocky Mountain Section of the American Water Works annual conference in Keystone, Colorado.

Nine municipalities from a three state region competed for the title of best drinking water based on taste, odor and appearance.  Greeley will represent the RMSAWWA at the national “Best of the Best” taste test at the AWWA Conference in Philadelphia next June.

Winners

The winners of the competition were Greeley Water taking first place, Castle Rock Water, in second, and the Animas Water Company from Animas, Colorado coming in third place.

How Does Greeley Make Its Water Taste So Good

Greeley’s water starts as pure Rocky Mountain snowmelt and the Water Department uses the latest technologies and most effective practices to further improve the quality of our drinking water. Two water treatment plants make the water safe to drink in Greeley. The Bellvue plant is located at the mouth of the Cache la Poudre River canyon and operates continually throughout the year. The Boyd Lake plant in Loveland is a seasonal, peaking plant that operates during the lawn-watering season. Greeley’s has a tradition of high quality drinking water and maintains both plants to meet this goal.
