High Plains Library District Offers Forgiveness Deal Through November 1
We have all been guilty of having that overdue library book. Avoidance will only increase your guilt. Here is your 'get out of jail free' card and a way to ease your conscious.
Don't avoid your library, thinking it will all go away. I mean, someone else might be wanting that one book you have. So why not do a good deed and get rid of those fees that have been keeping you awake at night.
All you have to do is bring in some non-perishable food items for the Weld Food Bank, Erie Food Bank and the Carbon Valley Help Center and you will be forgiven. Locations include,
- Greeley
- Eaton
- Erie
- Firestone
- Fort Lupton
- Evans
- Johnstown
- Kersey
- Hudson
- The Bookmobile
Amnesty starts on October 19 and runs through Saturday, November 1. You can receive up to up to $5 off fines or fees for each day you bring in a food donation. Basically it boils down to one non-perishable food item equaling $1 off library fines with a maximum of forgiveness of $70.
This is HPLD’s 4th year offering Fine Forgiveness. We know that more than ever this time of year there are many people throughout our communities who need a little help. In fact, 1 in 6 residents of Weld County need some sort of food assistance. We want to be a part of giving back, of helping create thriving and engaged communities. This provides an opportunity for us to lead the charge for getting people to do good things for others; while reaping a small reward for themselves - Kelli Johnson, Public Information Manager for HPLD
