Historic Avalanche Warnings Cover Colorado Mountains

We might have not gotten much snow here on the front range of Northern Colorado, but it is an entirely different story in the high country.

According to the Colorado Avalanche Information Center, four back country zones are in extreme avalanche danger. This is the first time that four have been on the extreme scale since the ten-zone forecast format has been implemented. Warning zones include Front Range, Steamboat, Flat Tops, Vail, Summit County, Sawatch, Aspen, Gunnison, Grand Mesa, and the San Juan Mountains.
