Larimer County has closed public access to the Horsetooth area, as fire activity escalated on Wednesday, October 14.

Following a few clear, mild smoke days in the Fort Collins area, high winds picked up Wednesday, visibly covering the city in smoke and ash. The flames are even visible from the Front Range. Larimer County tweeted that Horsetooth Mountain Open Space is closed to the public.

The main trailhead and Soderberg are closed. Blue Sky Trial is still open, but given the poor air quality, you may want to remain indoors.

Lory State Park is also being evacuated and being closed.

Mandatory evacuations have also been added for Bobcat Ridge Natural Area and Masonville.

Cameron Peak Fire has now been burning for over two months, and is close to being Colorado's largest wildfire in state history.
