If your plans for the weekend involve using the southbound I-25 off-ramp for Highway 34, you'll be wanting to get familiar with the detour that will run until 5 a.m. on Monday.

It is good news, in the end. Colorado Department of Transportation has been working on the I-25/Highway 34 exit for, 'forever' some might say, but they are now ready to attach the southbound I-25 exit to the new portion of the bridge that goes over Highway 34. This will be great, without question.

To get that done, they need to shut down that southbound off-ramp exit, completely, from 9 p.m. on Friday night, September 17, until 5 a.m. Monday morning, September 20. Then we'll all be traveling on that brand new bridge (that section, anyway.)

The Detour

You will not be able to exit onto Highway 34 off of I-25 if you're heading south; whether you want to head east into Greeley, or west into Loveland. The detour will take you south to exit at Highway 402 and come back north again to use the northbound I-25 off-ramp onto Highway 34, east or westbound.

You could exit I-25 sooner, at Crossroads Boulevard; and take that west into Loveland, or east to Fairgrounds Avenue, Just a thought.
