Colorado Seeks More Wolves Despite Import Ban

As you saw earlier, Colorado was told that it can not import wolves from Canada. However, Colorado is still trying to get more wolves to the state. According to 9News, Colorado reached out to a state in the Pacific Northwest for more wolves.

Washington State Denies Colorado’s Wolf Request

Colorado Parks and Wildlife Director Jeff Davis reached out to Washington State's Fish and Wildlife Commission and asked if we could have wolves relocated from Washington State to Colorado.

The Washington state Fish and Wildlife Commission voted on whether or not they would give Colorado wolves, and ultimately, the request was denied during a vote.

Nine Washington officials voted and only one said yes to relocating wolves to Colorado. According to 9News, Washington state officials felt like there was generally a large lack of information. Colorado pitched to Washington state to have the wolves brought to the Centennial State this winter.
