Curious Dachshund Trapped Under Concrete Saved by Colorado Fire Crew
Dogs have a great way of finding themselves in trouble. Most of the time, they get into things that they shouldn't have been into, chase other animals, or somehow end up on the roof.
One Colorado pooch needed the help of a local fire department after getting stuck inside a pipe under a concrete slab. A dachshund named Finely decided it would be a great idea to wander into the pipe under a concrete porch in Colorado Springs this week.

Finley's owners called the Colorado Springs Fire Department for assistance after the dog had been trapped in the pipe for several hours. The Colorado Springs Fire Department deployed Engine 15 and Heavy Rescue 17 to the call to rescue the curious wiener dog.
Responders used search cams to locate Finley, who was found about 15 feet into the pipe. Once he was found, firefighters cut a hole in the concrete to dig the dachshund out from the pipe.

The Colorado Springs Fire Department posted the story on Facebook and said that as soon as Finely was rescued and freed, he began running around and wagging his tail when he was safely reunited with his family.
As a fellow dog owner, I know that if my dog had gotten stuck in a pipe, I would have easily done the same thing and called for help. We're glad to see that Finley was successfully rescued. Paramedic Alan Kent, who also responded to the scene, advised the family to get the dachshund checked out by his veterinarian, just in case. See the photos from the rescue below.
