How Hot Sauce Led to A Recent Murder in Colorado
Denver is known for having one of the highest homicide rates in the country and unfortunately, there has been another murder in the Mile High City.
The incident happened near Mile High Stadium at a home on Federal Boulevard and West 23rd Avenue over a bottle of hot sauce.
19-Year-Old Man Arrested in Denver
George Vigil, a 19-year-old Denver resident has been arrested for the murder. According to 9News, Vigil and the victim were arguing because the victim came to the residence to make a sandwich and asked where the bottle of hot sauce was located.
An argument began and the victim of the murder challenged Vigil to a fight. The victim was not expecting Vigil to have a knife. Vigil stabbed the victim and they died at Denver Health, which is less than 10 minutes from where the incident happened.
KDVR reports that Vigil commonly had a switchblade with him at all times and that is what he used to stab the victim. Law & Crime noted that the victim was stabbed in the ribs and there were three men and one woman at the Denver home when the crime took place.
Status of George Vigil in Colorado
According to the Denver Police Department, George Vigil was arrested on September 23 for the murder that occurred the day prior. Vigil is under investigation for second-degree murder. Since the investigation is still happening, Denver Police have not announced the name of the victim who was murdered.
Vigil did appear in court on September 23 and he is being held with a $200,000 bond.
