I love animals. If I am being honest, I would probably have as many pets as I could realistically take care of in my home. With that being said, the current number is one and only one at this point in time. However, some Coloradans love their pets so much, they choose to have numerous dogs and cats.

One Colorado city says that residents will have to limit their love of pets to four. Dogs or cats, you can only have four in Northglenn, Colorado, later this year.

According to Denver 7, residents of this Denver Metro Area city requested the change to the ordinance due to excessive pet waste and noise in some Northglenn neighborhoods.

What if I already have more than four pets in Northglenn, Colorado?

Residents of Northglenn, Colorado, who already have four or more dogs or cats, need to take proper steps with the city before the ordinance is in place. These residents who have more than the allowed limit of dogs or cats would need to fill out an exemption form before August 1, 2025. This exemption form must list each pet's name, breed, age, sex, and the date acquired.

The City of Northglenn had this to say about the soon-to-be-enacted pet ordinance:

Pets bring joy and companionship to our lives, but they also come with responsibilities. By establishing reasonable pet limits, we aim to ensure that everyone living in Northglenn, bot pet owners and non-pet owners, can enjoy their homes and neighborhoods. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we implement this new ordinance.
