For nearly 50 years, in 2025, Coloradans have been able to enjoy items such as the Grand Slam Breakfast at local Denny's across the state. For those that enjoy hitting up their favorite Denny's, they may want to brace themselves for bad news.

You might be surprised to find that Denny's began as a donut shop out of California back in 1953. All these years later, they're known mostly for breakfast, having well over 1,000 locations across the world. You would be hard-pressed to find one person that hasn't been to a Denny's at least once. There's something about sitting down, getting some coffee, chatting with friends and family over a decently priced meal.

How May Denny's Does Colorado Have in 2025?

According to their website, Colorado has 18 locations across the state, with Aurora having the most spots, at three. I think the last time that I was there was 10 years ago with my brother for a Veterans Day deal they were having.

On November 4, 2025, Denny's agreed to be bought out by a couple of parties, including a private equity firm, TriArtisan Capital Advisors. This particular private equity firm, at that time, was known for buying out chains and then closing many, many locations. The other buyer was as a major franchisee of Denny's. Public trading of Denny's will begin in early 2026; with that, it's very hard to say what direction the restaurant chain will go.
