It's not often people get excited about a road opening, but this project in Colorado seems to have been going on "forever." The road is finally opening and will bring a lot f convenience.

For several years, people in the area have been wondering not only what the project was, but if they'd ever finish it. In early October of 2024, people were getting used to not have to "go around," anymore.

Have you tried out this new road, yet?

Kendall Parkway Extension in Loveland Colorado Opens

In Loveland, if you've been to the Promenade Shops at Centerra's north side, or visited the Chapungu Sculpture Park, you've probably taken Kendall Parkway to get there.

While doing so, you also may have noticed that the parkway has not been a through street; it would only take you around to the west side of the shops. That changed in October of 2024.

What's the Big Deal About Kendall Parkway?

With this completed extension, travelers can go underneath I-25 (not many roads in Colorado even do that) on Kendall Parkway from Rocky Mountain Avenue to Centerra Parkway. Kendall Parkway continues west of Rocky Mountain Avenue to Boyd Lake Avenue.

This extension makes things much, much easier for folks on either side of I-25, looking to travel from the west to the areas east of the interstate, and vice-versa.

Even those who visit the Promenade Shops from the inner-parts of Loveland, don't have to go out towards the busy Highway 34/I-25 interchange to get back into town; they can hop on Kendall and take that to Boyd Lake Avenue and then out to Highway 34/Eisenhower.

If you haven't heard of La Mariposa Mexican Restaurant before, I would be kind of surprised, as everyone loves their traditional and modern Mexican cuisine.

MORE Mexican Delish: This Mexican Spot is One of Colorado's BEST

After opening in 2008, Las Palmeras Mexican Restaurant has become one of the area's very best locally-owned places to get delicious, and authentic Mexican food. We found this place by accident years ago while driving hungry down Main Street in Longmont and have been regulars ever since.

The owner, the staff, the food, and the drinks are all top notch and that's what makes this one of Colorado's top choices for delicious Mexican food. It's also a perfect place to watch sports!
