While Loveland is widely known for wrapping its arms around Valentine's Day, the Northern Colorado town loves Christmas, too. Yearly, there are many different celebrations/displays happening across the city, including in Downtown. With all the 4th Street construction, however, things won't look they way they have for many, many years.

While Loveland's Heart Improvement Plan (HIP Streets) work on 4th Street continues into the winter of 2025, you can see things starting to take shape east of Lincoln and west of Garfield. The new infrastructure below the street is in place, new lights have gone up and new landscaping adorns the new sidewalks. By the summer of 2026 the entirety of 4th Street renovations should be in place, around Christmastime, however, things are going to get "messy." on 4th.

The residents and businesses around the 4th Street have been dealing with a lot of construction since February of 2025: roads closed, detours, construction noise, etc. The businesses, especially have been effected, as it's been difficult to reach their storefronts. As the work on 4th Street from Washington to Lincoln wraps up in late November of 2025, work will move along to 4th between Lincoln and Cleveland. Yearly, Downtown Loveland's Christmas Tree would be found in front of The Rialto, right in the middle (between Lincoln and Cleveland.)

For 2025 Christmas/Holiday setup, Downtown's Christmas Tree will be set up in The Foundry, between 3rd Street and 2nd Street. The cost of erecting the tree on 4th Street, then moving it when construction starts, was too much for Downtown's budget, so they decided to put in The Foundry for the entirety of the season.

I can see businesses on 4th being frustrated, as many people have been coming down to 4th Street to get photos with the tree; those visitors no may not venture to 4th after seeing the tree in The Foundry. By next holiday season, all should be back to normal.
