Ball Arena In Denver, Colorado

The Ball Arena, formerly Pepsi Center until 2020, has been a Downtown Denver staple for over two decades. The arena replaced the old McNichols Arena which was next to the old Mile High Stadium at Federal and Colfax. Yes, a lot has changed since the former Pepsi Center opened its doors in 1999. Ball Arena is home to the current Stanley Cup Champion Colorado Avalanche, the NBA's Denver Nuggets, and the current NLL Champion Colorado Mammoth. As well as 100s of concerts, family shows, and other events each and every year.

For being almost 25 years old, the arena is in pretty spectacular shape. I never walk into the arena and think to myself "Woof, this place needs some serious upgrades." I've been to many arenas around the states and Ball Arena is certainly one of the best ones out there. I'm not alone in thinking that either as it was just voted as the best NHL arena for fans in the league.

Ball Arena Was Voted Best NHL Arena

Canada Sports Betting took a look at all 32 NHL teams' different arenas to help rank each team's home ice and how fan-friendly each venue is. After looking at various items like "the walking distance from each arena to the closest public transport, the walking distance to the nearest external restaurant, and the availability of dedicated parking," it was decided that the home of the current Stanley Cup champs, the Colorado Avalanche, is the best arena for fans in the entire NHL.  The study found that:

Ball Arena ranked as the best NHL stadium, scoring an impressive 35.57 points out of 40. Home to the Colorado Avalanche, The Ball Arena offers below-average beer prices at $0.78 per ounce and is just a one-minute walk from the closest bus station on Auraria Pkwy & 9th St. The arena was also found to be just a one-minute walk from the nearest external restaurant, Brooklyn's At Ball Arena, and fans who drive to games can benefit from dedicated on-site arena parking.

It's easy to take for granted what we have at our local arena, but apparently, we have it much better than most. The least NHL fan-friendly arena is USB Arena in Elmont, New York, which is home to the New York Islanders. Wanna see something else that might be even nicer than the Ball Arena? This former Avs home is ridiculous.
