The Denver Broncos finally locked down a win on Sunday for the first time in the 2023-24 season.

It was the battle of two of the "worst" teams in the NFL this past Sunday as the winless Denver Broncos took on the winless Chicago Bears.

Most around Broncos Country felt like the odds of winning this one were in our favor, and after we scored a touchdown on our opening drive, it felt pretty good.

Sadly, after that great opening drive, the Broncos soon fell to 28-7, and it felt like we couldn't do anything right. But then, at the start of the 4th quarter, it happened ...

Did Sean Payton Bring The Broncos Good Luck On Sunday?

Coach Payton made an interesting fashion statement during Sunday's game that some superstitious fans say may have changed his Broncos' luck shortly after. It was over 80 degrees at Soldier Field in Chicago, and he was wearing a full-sleeve zip-up hoodie. Next thing you know, he was having someone chop off the bottom half of the sleeves live on CBS.

After the game, Coach Payton said the elastic on the wrist of the sleeves wasn't letting any air in or out, and he was heating up, so he had to improvise on the spot to get some airflow going.

Did that simple Belichick-esk move change the team's luck?

I guess we'll have to see if they can keep playing how they did in the fourth quarter in Chicago, but it'll be interesting to see if Payton makes this his new weekly thing or not.

My prediction is that it was a one-time thing, but if we're getting beat down again this weekend at home against the Jets, break out the scissors, baby, and let's lock up another win.

This Sunday's game will be the return of last season's short-lived Denver Head Coach Nathaniel Hackett. However, he'll be rolling into town without his ace, as Aaron Rogers is out for the season with an Achilles injury. The Broncos can and should be the Jets on Sunday, with or without Coach Payton's sleeves. Go Broncos!
