If you've bought any organic carrots in Colorado, you're probably better off pitching them, as there is the chance that they have e-coli contamination.

It seems we were just talking about the big sliced onions outbreak that involved Colorado McDonald's, now here we are again, only this time with carrots. Do you like them as a snack, or with many of your meals?

I'm a big fan of baby carrots; I enjoy some with my "sack lunch" every afternoon. I don' t normally buy organic ones, so I'm safe. If you bought organic baby carrots at a Colorado Trader Joe's, Safeway, or Whole Foods, you may not be.

According to the Mercury News. there are over a dozen states across the nation, including Colorado, that did have the e-coli contaminated carrots from Grimmway Farms available to consumers. Nearly 40 people have reportedly been affected. There has been one reported case here in the Centennial State.

If you bought organic carrots between August 14 and October 23, 2024, and still have them in your fridge, it's best to toss them out. I can't see many people really paying that close of attention to what brand of organic carrots they got, but 15 different brands were involved.

Imagine, having a nice dinner with some sautéed baby carrots as the side dish, and then a few das later, feeling horrible. Many people may have felt that way, but didn't go to a health professional, so It's tough to say have many Coloradans may have been affected.
