New REI Store Finally Coming North Of Denver

Popular outdoor recreation store, REI, which opened its first Colorado location in Denver back in 1983, has announced plans to open its tenth store in our state, only the 2nd location north of Denver.

Being such a popular destination when it comes to outdoor life and activities, Colorado has its fair share of outdoor stores like Cabela's, Bass Pro Shops, and Sportsman Warehouse just to name a few.

One of the longest-running outdoor store chains in Colorado is REI, which stands for "Recreation Equipment, Inc," and has been serving the Colorado community since 1983.

Perhaps the most famous and popular location is on I-25 and Speer in the old Denver Forney Museum location, but they have locations all over Colorado, including a 10th location coming soon in Northern Colorado.

REI Store Coming To Loveland, Colorado, In 2024

REI has announced that its 10th Colorado location will open in Loveland in the summer of 2024. In a press release regarding the new location , Janet Hopkins, who is the REI regional director for the Rockies/Great Plains region said:

REI’s presence in Colorado began in 1983 with our first store in Denver. Loveland will be our tenth location in the state. We look forward to serving the community and visitors who come to enjoy Rocky Mountain National Park, Long View Trail, the Colorado Front Range Trail, and endless other outdoor opportunities. REI will also seek partnerships with local outdoor nonprofits to support their efforts in protecting natural places and welcoming more people outside.

 

Where Is REI's Loveland, Colorado Location?

Loveland's new RE Istore will be located at the Marketplace at Centerra and will be a whopping 23,000 square feet. REI says they currently have 61,000 REI Co-op Members in the Loveland Area, with over one million in the entire state, so the demand was clearly there for this new location.

While an exact date for the Loveland REI location has yet to be confirmed, the company said its target is to have it up and running by this summer (2024). While you wait, the only other Northern Colorado location is off College Ave in Fort Collins near Boardwalk.
