Look for Big Changes at Your Colorado Rock Bottom Restaurant
"The only thing constant, is change" as they say, and that goes for Rock Bottom restaurants/breweries in Colorado.
New Ownership of Rock Bottom Brings Changes
In December of 2024 it was announced that the corporation that owned Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery sold that part of their business to another corporation. With the new ownership, Colorado Rock Bottoms are going to start looking different.
Rock Bottom started in Downtown Denver in 1990. The Loveland location opened up in the mid-2000s.
I have been a fan of Rock Bottom since they began in Denver back in the early 90s. I've often been found at the Rock Bottom in Loveland, at the Promenade Shops at Centerra. I've always liked the "laid back" vibe of the place.
The new owners of Rock Bottom, is Kelly Companies out of southern California. They have more than a few restaurant chains under their umbrella, so they know what they're doing. Have you seen what they've done?

One of the biggest changes that may draw in a lot more customers, is adding non-craft beers to their taps. I was in the Loveland location in mid-January of 2025, and was floored to see Bud, Bud Light, Coors Light, Michelob Ultra, and Modelo as options.
Take note of the domestic beers now available at the Rock Bottom in Loveland: Bud, Michelob Ultra, and Bud Light up front; Modelo and Coors Light in the back.
It seems crazy to see domestics on tap at Rock Bottom. There was a brief time, long ago, where they did have domestic bottles that you could get, but that didn't last.
This move looks like it will stick; I also noticed that they cut down on the number of craft beer they're making there.

Sports bar food, like chicken wings, does taste better with a domestic beer.
Overall, it looks (to me) like they're moving towards being more of a "sports bar" than a craft brewery with a restaurant. They're pushing their NFL Sunday Ticket package, as well as showing UFC fights.
UFC and football do go better with domestic beer, for many.
