Colorado Teens Interested in Making Music will Love this Program

When one pictures a summer camp, visions from popular films like Wet Hot American Summer, Meatballs, and even Friday the 13th typically come to mind.

However, one summer camp of sorts in Colorado that is being offered to teens this year focuses not on singing campfire songs, but rather on how to create songs in a professional setting.

Colorado's Music Creators Camp is Coming this Summer

The program is called Music Creators Camp and is being offered at the Community College of Denver's Auraria Campus by the Robert and Judi Newman Center for the Performing Arts, which is located on the campus of Denver University.

While DU is known to be a private university, this program is open to anyone between the ages of 13 and 16 who wants to learn how to edit and produce music using digital software.

Each program is a week long, with one specially designed for beginners and another designed for experienced campers. These programs will be offered on the week of June 9, as well as the following week of June 16, respectively, both from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The cost to sign up for either of the programs is $450 per week, with needs-based scholarships available, and covers topics including melody, lyrics, creating beats, recording, production, and composition.
