King Soopers is joining the fight against vaping.

The store's parent company, Kroger, announced on their website that the grocery chain will be discontinuing the sale of "electronic nicotine delivery products" due to the complex regulations surrounding them, according to The Denver Post

The decision comes as more and more people are becoming aware of the dangers that e-cigarettes can cause, including President Trump.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are currently investigating over 1,000 instances of vaping-related lung illnesses in America.

According to the CDC, 18 deaths in 15 states were related to vaping-related lung illnesses as of October 1.

Two of the cases under investigation have occurred in Northern Colorado, with one being an 18-year-old student at the University of Northern Colorado.

With national companies, such as Walmart, stopping the sale of e-cigarettes, it's no surprise that the Colorado-based King Soopers is following suit.

According to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, Colorado teenagers vape nicotine more than in any other state in the nation.

However, nicotine isn't the only substance people are vaping these days. Majority of the people who have gotten sick were using marijuana vapes, many of which were likely not purchased from a regulated manufacturer.

Symptoms of vaping-related illnesses include trouble breathing, chest pain, coughing, fatigue, and fever. If you vape and notice any of these symptoms, contact your doctor as soon as possible.

King Soopers will continue to sell its current inventory until it runs out...but, if you're already a non-smoker, now is probably not the time to go and get hooked on e-cigarettes.
