Where are all the whiskey connoisseurs at? Even if this strong, distilled beverage isn’t your drink of choice, you’ll definitely want to read about the largest and most substantial private collection of whiskey to ever go to auction and it's been hiding in Colorado.

The private whiskey collection owned by the late Richard Gooding includes over 3,900 bottles of whiskey, and is being named “The Perfect Collection” by Whiskey Auctioneer, the Scotland-based online whiskey auction specialists.

Whiskey Auctioneer states that this will be the most significant whiskey collection to be at auction, measured by value and volume. The collection showcases primarily single malt Scotch whiskey.

According to 9News.com, Gooding devoted much of his life creating “The Perfect Collection” while traveling to and from Scotland searching for unique bottles through local auctions and popular distilleries. His search has yielded finds such as Old Orkney from Stomness Distillery and Dallas Dhu, which has not been seen yet in auction.

Nancy Gooding, widow of Richard, told 9News: “It was clear to us as a family that collecting Scotch was one of Richard’s greatest passions – an endeavor that spanned over two decades. He loved every aspect of it; from researching the many single malt distilleries to visiting them and tasting their whiskies.”

Whiskey Auctioneer states that Gooding was so proud of his collection that he designated a specific room in his Colorado home and named it the ‘Pub,’ in order to display each one of his incredible whiskies.

Interested in being a part of this monumental whiskey auction? “The Perfect Collection” is set for auction in both February and April of 2020.
