The Larimer County Department of Health's COVID-19 death count decreased by three on Monday (Jan. 19), while 120 new COVID-19 cases were added to the county's COVID-19 dashboard.

The county's death toll since the beginning of the pandemic stood at 179 on Sunday (Jan. 18); on Monday, that number decreased to 176 - 3 less deaths than accounted for the day prior.

Larimer County Health Department officials said the total number of deaths was lowered after a comparison between state and county lists revealed two deaths that were listed twice on the county’s tally; a third death was removed from the county's list after health officials determined that the fatality didn’t meet the requirements to be listed as a COVID-19 death.

While there was a decrease in Larimer County's death tally, the county added 120 new COVID-19 cases to its cumulative total.

As of Tuesday (Jan. 19), there have been 16,746 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the county since the beginning of the pandemic.

Larimer County remains a high-risk area with a two-week positivity rate of 6.4% and an overall prevalence rate of 413 cases per 100,000 residents.
