Local businesses are trying their best to return to serving the public amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, but public health restrictions, such as capacity limits, are proving to be an economic challenge for our local enterprises.

"Right now, the biggest challenge is that reopening phase that we are in, and it's understanding new regulations, it's building plans to effectively open, and it's also spending time with your actual business plan to see if reopening makes any sense or not," said Ann Hutchison, the Executive Vice President at the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce, in our "Tuned In to NoCo" interview. "For many of our small employers and businesses, it might make sense to hold off for a few more weeks..."

Thankfully, Larimer County leaders are here to make sure that businesses aren't navigating this challenge alone.

The chamber, along with the Larimer Small Business Development Center (LSBDC) and the Loveland Business Development Center (LBDC), have created a virtual series titled "Marketing Series for Business: Marketing Plan RECOVERY" to ensure that business owners have the resources they need to determine if reopening right now is the best path for them.

The series will take place from 11 a.m. to noon the week of June 22-26. Business owners can purchase individual sessions for $15, or the entire 5-part series for $50.

The sessions will focus of a variety of topics such as general marketing strategies, digital marketing, website design, social media, and email marketing.

"Part of the reason we wanted to hit marketing very hard for our small businesses is because everything that we've known about the way that consumers interact with our businesses has changed in the last few months," said Kat Rico, the Program Director for the LBDC. "Right now that we're entering into this reopening phase...it's the perfect time for business owners to really take a look at what their current marketing strategy is, and if it's really going to serve them and be adaptable enough for the future."
