Inspired by Mesa County's '5-Star' Variance Protection Program, Laimer County's 'Level-Up Pilot Program' has the support of local chambers of commerce.

Larimer County is currently under the state's 'Safer-at-Home' Level Red position on the 'COVID-19 Dial,' which has put further strain on local businesses trying to survive the economic downturn due to the pandemic.

The Level-Up Pilot Program, if accepted by Governor Jared Polis, would allow for variances to the Level Red order; including allowing restaurants to have indoor dining at 25% capacity (as opposed to no indoor dining at all,) gyms being allowed 25% capacity (as opposed to 10%,) and to have indoor events allowed at 10% capacity (as opposed to no indoor events,) all while operating at the highest-level of COVID-19 safety.

From a press release from the Fort Collins and Loveland Area Chambers of Commerce:

Ultimately, the Level-Up Pilot Program is focused on suppressing the virus and mitigating economic damage to the business community.

The program has wide support across the county, including the Larimer County Department of Health, the Loveland and Fort Collins Area Chambers of Commerce, the Cities of Loveland and Fort Collins, the Towns of Estes Park, Windsor, Berthoud and Wellington.

The group presented the program to Governor Polis' office on December 10, 2020, where it was applauded for its efforts, but they did not make a final decision on the presented plan.

The state, on December 11, 2020, will be releasing framework for counties across Colorado to apply for variances. The Level-Up Program organizers feel that the program will go right in line with the new guidelines, if not further.

Any businesses in Larimer County that are interested in the Level-Up Program are urged to fill out THIS FORM.
