According to LCDHE, the seven-day case rate has declined 38 percent since the peak that occurred on January 14, 2022. Larimer County Public Health Director, Tom Gonzales, said: "While the use of face masks in crowded indoor setting has been an important mitigation measure over the past two years, I believe it is the right time to end the requirements based on positive trends we're seeing with the Omicron variant."

Poudre School District Responds to the Expiring Mask Order

Poudre School District Superintendent, Brian Kingsley, sent out correspondence to families of students that attend school in the Poudre School District shortly after the announcement of the expiring mask mandate.

The email states that masks are still required at all PSD facilities. PSD has not yet determined what Larimer County's announcement means for PSD's current protocol when it comes to masking requirements. A district decision will be made as soon as possible.
