Investigators with the Larimer County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) are seeking additional information regarding a sex assault case involving a Northern Colorado man.

According to a Thursday, Jan. 6 news release via the Larimer County Sheriff's Office, a 16-year-old female student reported that she had been sexually assaulted in September 2019; the 16-year-old, whose name has not been publicly disclosed, reported the assault to a Fort Collins Police Services school resource officer in November 2019.

She reportedly told the officer the sexual assault took place in the 400 block of North Highway 287 in Fort Collins/unincorporated Larimer County. As such, investigators with Larimer County Sheriff's Office took on the information regarding the incident.

As per the news release, the 16-year-old female told investigators that she first met 36-year-old Andrew Koprowski from Loveland through the popular social media app, Snapchat.

Koprowski reportedly agreed to sell the minor marijuana; once they met, the victim got into the man's vehicle to which he then allegedly grabbed her arm - forcing her to remain inside the car - drove a short distance away to a more secluded area, and reportedly assaulted her.

Investigators have since been able to obtain enough evidence that supports the victim's report and therefore were able to obtain an arrest warrant on the 36-year-old suspect; Andrew Francisco Koprowski and booked into the Larimer County Jail on October 1, 2021.

Koprowski was arrested on the following charges, according to LCSO:

  • Sexual Assault – Victim Submit by Force (F3)
  • Sexual Assault – Overcome Victim’s Will (F3)
  • Unlawful Sexual Contact – No Consent/Force (F4)
  • 2nd Degree Kidnapping (F2)
  • Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor (F4)
  • Distribution of Marijuana to a Minor (Drug Felony 4)

Koprowski posted a $50,000 bond and has since been released from the county jail. He left on October 5, 2021.

Investigators now believe there might be other victims who had contact with Andrew Koprowski for the purchase of marijuana or other products via social media.  Should you or anyone you know have information regarding this case, you are asked to contact Investigator Stephen Gates with the Larimer County Sheriff's Office at 970-498-5169.

The charges are merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until, and unless, proven guilty.
